fall 2000 and 9

fall 2009 enjoy it has been a nice fall though except for mom getting sick, contractor skipping out and plumbing going aray. not to mention septic probles, then anouther contractor mishap. car parts and a new washer ,dryer. if it wasn't for work i would be toes up. hopefully everything comes together and all ends well. other then all those problems and many more the weathers been good to us . no snow yet but rain has been comeing down. it is poreing out there right now cats and dogs, plus a little wind to make it better. cold fronts comming soon. have yet to buy a snow blower. think i'm waiting tell they are all gone and i won't be able to find one anywhere. always can fall back on the shovel, well lean on it i guess. bon said shes not shoveling this year , don,t blame her for that. i like the excersize myself.
CODY AND BEAR ARE COUSINs i thought but bonnie says that codys her grand son. so i guess that makes me a grand doggie

rhonda moved back home this fallgiveing herself and jimmy a time out

although they are blury you can see the horns in the top picure shining in the evenig light

FALL 2009 HOLY COW WHERE DOES THE TIME GO
time to take the cover off the ol honda and fire it up/. it is amazeing how a machine can sit so dormat and fire up like a pro when the time is needed. BUT--- and it is a big but i,m talking about. my body has taken some crazy turns durring the last couple years. my knees are shot . without hydrocordone they wouldn't be any good to me. i have another year to go before retire ment.i want to let them last that long. then there are other old man problems you don't want to know about. but are keeping me at bay. so i have not been the faithfull hunter i always have been. not this year at least. i started the year out by letting a nice big 4 point walk away. HEY i couldn,t drag the darn thing anyway. haven,t only been a couple times sence. and a couple hours at that. i went back that day when i saw the buck with intentions of not shooting but getting a picture and i did. the pic is blurry but when i got to the stand it was already in the field. i climed up opened the windows of carls old stand and took 5 pics of it before i lifted the .06 to look at it through the scope. wow what a nice rack i said and coninued to watch as he drifted away in the evening light., it did my heart good that day. to be able to control myself from being a killer for that short moment. theres only a couple weeks left. i have taken care of one little problem so far and when that heels i will go again. this time i might just take the safety off. heres the 4 pt.

THE GREAT OUT DOORS

CHIRP CHIRP THE SOUND OF A TREE FROG IS PRETTY. OL STICKY TOES ARE EASY TO CATCH WHEN YOU FIND OUT WHERE THEY ARE HIDEING. THIS ONE HITCHED A RIDE IN THE DOOR WELL OF MY CAR NOT KNOWING HOW LONG HE HAD BEEN THERE . I JUST HAPPENED TO SEE HIM WHEN I OPENED THE BACK DOOR.PICKED HIM UP AND TOOK HIM IN THE HOUSE TO GET PIX OF HIM. THE GOOD OL TREE FROG STICKY FEET HE SHOULD BE CALLED.
NO THATS NOT A PAINTED TURTLE IT,S A SNAPPING TURTLE, VERY YOUNG INDEED. ABOUT TEN YEARS I WOULD SAY. THEY LIVE FOR A VERY LONG TIME.

NOW WHO WOULDN,T LOVE TO SEE ONE OF THEASE IN THE WILD. THIS ONE WAS ONLY A FEW DAYS OLD. A SIGHT FOR SORE EYES FOR SHURE.THE GRASS IT,S IN IS NEARLY A FOOT TALL.

THIS PRETTY LITTLE FLOWER GROWS ON A VINE . NOT VERY MANY I SHOULD SAY. I HAVE ONLY FOUND A FEW. MABY FROM SEEDS DROPPED BY PASSING BIRDS. BUT VERY NICE TO SEE.

AMAZEING HOW THEY SMELL LIKE PERFUME

THE GREAT OUT DOORS

TAKE A WALK OUT BACK OF MY HOME IN UPSTATE NEW YORK AND YOU WILL SOON KNOW WHY I LOVE THE OUT OF DOORS. YOU WILL SEE MANY VERIETYS OF TREES ,SHRUBS, WILD FLOWERS AND WEEDS. BUT THERE IS BEAUTY AND ODORS OUT THERE THAT I WISH COULD BE BOTTLED UP AND SOLD. TAKE FOR INSTANCE THE MILK WEED PLANT. WHO WOULD OF THOUGHT THAT THIS STICKY FUNNY LOOKING PLANT COULD SMELL SO GOOD. YOU MIGHT NOT NOTICE IF SEEN ON THE SHOLDER OF THE ROAD OR IN SOMEONES GARDEN BUT IF YOU STAND IN ONE OF MY FIELDS RIGHT NOW SORROUNDED BY THEM YOU WOULD SAY UMMMM THAT SMELLS GOOD.

DAISYS AND BROWN EYED SUSANS ARE EVERYWHERE THIS TIME OF YEAR. THEY MAKE BEAUTIFUL FLOWER CENTER PIECES. THEY ARE VERY PHOTOGENIC ALWAYS SMILEING. AS WE WALK THROUGH THE FIELDS MANY ODERS HIT YOU FROM THE MANY DIFFERENT SPECIES .MEDOW LARKS SING AND A RABBITS RUNS FOR SHELTER FROM THE INTRUDERS. IF YOUR LUCKY YOU MIGHT HAPPEN APON A NEW BORN FAWN. IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME ONLY ONCE IN THIRTY YEARS.

DADS PRIM ROSES ARE STILL GROWING BACK THERE IN SEVERAL DIFFERENT PLACES . THEY LOOK LIKE A BUTTER CUP BUT ARE BIGGER. AND THEY ARE EASY TO PLANT. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THEY DON,T LAST THROUGH THE SUMMER. THEY GROW THICK AS YOU WANT THEM. DAD USED TO SELL THEM FOR 5 DOLLORS A DOZEN, I THINK THATS WHY I SEE THEM IN SO MANY DIFFERENT PLACES.HE SOLD A LOT OF THEM.HIS LAND LORD BROUGHT THEM UP FROM PENN. AND THEY HAD THEM ALL AROUND THE HOUSE.

MEMORIES OF PAST DEER HUNTS

MEMORIES ARE ALL WE HAVE

ALTHOUGH I HAVE YET TO KILL A 8 POINT BUCK I HAVE GOTTON A 7POINT, 5,4,3,2,1, AND A HAND FULL OF DOES. ALL WERE VERY GOOD EATING. SOMEDAY BEFORE I MEET MY MAKER AN OLD 8 POINT WILL WALK UP OUT OF THE SWAMP AND MY DREAM WILL BE FORFILLED. HERE ARE SOME OLD MEMORIES I HAVE . GOING BACK TO 1975.

rob was in collage at the time. i called and asked him if he would like to tag his birthday present he was excited as i was. BUSTED

i always tried hard to fill a tag on my sons birthday the 19th 0f nov.

as the years went on i continued to take the small spikes shooting and filling my tags. all on a small piece of property i bought from a farmer near by.

first one i ever killed with a bow, i know it,s small but adeer it was .

year after year hunters go out into the wild and try to out wit the elusive whitetail deer.some years would be worse than outhers, i was greatful just to fill a tag. some met there delima by running in front of a car like this bull robs holding up.biggest deer i ever cut up a 12 point over 200 lbs. killed by larry nickles with a buick.

those were the good old days. memmories that will stay with us forever i hope. just in case i loose my mind i will post thease so i can look at them often. what a hood i was. like this guy

who is this on the left? richard w. back in 79 i think at the old red camp. looks like andrew.

hunting goes to your head after a long season. this is back in 78 rhonda is on the left and shelly on the right.brushbuck is wearing the horns. over to the right theres dad siting at the table at red camp. he was always happy when there was venison to cut up.

this pic was taken back in 75 looks like it is alive. my neace is rideing , notice the ringer washer in the back, the deers long been digested, i,m a lot older and my nease has children older than she was here.
