spring in december???

so much for that spring weather we are now back into the deep freeze. snowing about 24 straight hours. i have shoveled 3 times so far. but now the airs getting colder. going back down to single didgets.

whats up with the weather? snows for two solid months then turns new york into an ice box. but before you can say january thaw it starts raining , and raining, then the wind comes , temps hit the 50,s and the snow desends . snow banks are now at a defecet like my financial banks. fields turn brown again like it never snowed. spring is in the air. yeh right . don,t be fooled by ol man winter, he's just takeing in a deep breath. mother nature can,t hold him off for long. then he lets it out . a jiant just of wind blows us back into reality. snow covers the ground again. freezing temperatures return along with gusty chill factors. it was nice while it lasted. a tiny spring thaw in december. oh what a relief it was. above bear crosses the ice to test it before i cross. hey ya never know. ha he got his feet wet anyway. sorry bear.

look what the wind blew back

wishfull thinking hey dummy your going the wrong way.

the wind blew so hard the outher day it blew this guy smack dab into my garage door.

christmas day

ho ho ho look at jerry in the snow. way out there in oregon. quit complaining and come down from there.

yup your looking at the boss , shes right there next to me.

ok so dinner won,t be ready on time . now what will we do. check the ham ma.

christmas day started for me around 10 am. yeh i know i'm pretty lazy. we didn't have any little ones running around yelling come on mommy. so after listning to the wind blow all night i was tired. when i did come to i jumped out of bed threw on my jeans and peeked around the corner to see bonnie already putting on make up. i asked why so early, she replied she had to cook a dinner. oh ok guess that makes a difference. rob texed me at 7:30 . i herd the beep but rolled overand went back to sleep. when i woke up i texed him back. he had said happy holidays , so i said back at ya. then while i was haveing breakfast bonnie discovered we didn,t have any tin foil. so here it is xmas day and guess who had to go to town. after i ate my cold toast and bitter coffee i went to visit mom at the home. she was pretty good today. then heather got here finaly and we had our wonderful burnt ham. not realy burnt just a little over cooked but it was my falt for not buying a fully cooked ham. it was a smoked one. but good anyways. we all got up with full bellys . but it took a while to fill mine. then there was desert. and fudge and candy and ice cream to eat. now i can,t move and my breathing is a little slow. so heres the happy group.later

I STAND AT THE DOOR WAY AND LISTEN FOR A BIT BEFORE I WALK IN. SHE IS NOW REPEATING THE WORDS oh my god OVER AND OVER. SO I SPEAK UP AND SAY whos god? SHE SAYS COME IN HERE. beating the winter blues

guess you could fly south
twylight on a winters

evening.what is there to do besides sit in side a worm home looking out the window at the falling snow. waiting for enough to build up before tretching out in it to shovel the drive. how will i ever last through the long cold winter to come. it is just begun and already there are signs of cabin fever showing . being bored out of your mind through thease treturous times can bring you down . so what do you do ? you get a hobbie, do something . get off your butt. turn the tv off, enjoy the glorious fluffy white snow. yeh right. ok so go back in and turn that tube back on. let it control your life. go to the fridge that will help. put a ton of fat on . at least you,ll be worm for the cold winter months. ooooooorrrrrr, pick up a book and read, read about being shut in a worm house being bored out of your gord. why not go see a movie? or do you have enough money to even do that? the roads are still bare , what are you waiting for ? christmas? what am i to do.? hmmmm, lets see. maby i will get dressed and go for a walk in the woods like i used to when i was a much younger .the light from the full moon will be enough, you won,t need a flash light. the owls will hoot and screech at each outher while you try to cox them nearer by sounding like a mouse. the howls of a coyote pack break the silence of the night , your hair tickels as it stands on your neck. they seem to be getting closer and closer. your heart starts to trat from the music you hear. coyotes chaseing there dinner not you so theres nothing to fear.

but if your scared of the dark you can hurry back home and sit by the fire and talk on the phone. but if you don,t have a fire you,ll have to settel with the coutch and the furnace to worm you . maby a cup of hot chocolate will worm up your bones. theres a million things to do this time of the year. but right now i can,t think of anything except haveing you near. where did that come from? i though all this time i was alone. who are you ? anyways i,m so glad you came ., we can be bored together . maby even keep each outher worm. ok wake up turkey it,s all just a dream, as winter creeps in .what can i do to beat the winter time blues.

snow storm at camp 2008

so here we are on the mountian , dicks guests for a two
day hunt. we arived before the sun cam up. it was rainning. and has been raining for a few days now.they are calling for snow tonight . we unloaded the 4 wheelers and packed them up like muels. putting all we could carry. the boys were excited . wayne has never been here so he has an exsperiance ahead of him. we drove up the ruff muddy road through deep water holes and hard driven roads. i was excited to get to camp just to rest. start a fire and relax. but there would be a lot of work ahead bringing water in the camp and arms full of wood to last the night. i was not going out this morning. later we will be pounding the ridges. trying to get the deer moveing. we,d make 3 drives before night set. and then sit down to a good meal that dick was going to cook for us. welcome to camp dick said.

what do you think danny? have you every seen this much snow? you going out . no why not? well stay and keep worm . as we did . we talked and enjoyed the heat.

it's getting bad and the boys are not back yet . i told dick that jim will stay out untell total darkness. waynes the one i was saprised about staying out so late. i was the lazy one that stayed in the camp and kept the fires burning . we can only hope it doesn,t keep snowing all night . we will have a hard time getting off this rock if it does.

jimmy is that you. ya better try to find wayne he's not back yet. he is probly trying to walk in this.

is that jimmy comming , or is it wayne . either way it's about time. it,s getting bad .

dick came in early , it was snowing hard. when he comes in early you know it's bad

this was the evening before and it started to snow

well we are ready to make the treck down the mountian. hate to leave the beauty of the snow. iif i were retired and had all the time in the world i would have stayed . comfortable worm from the wood stove . food in my belly but there an obligation we have to think about . work the dirty four letter word. the thing thast keeps us alive. you weigh your options and say good bye to a wonderful exsperiance.

look at that snow guys, it's a good thing it stopped when it did, we would be stuck on the mountian . the boys from caralina were not a bit worried. they absalutly loved it. thease are guys who have never seen snow that was this deep .

any body bring a shovel? jim wanted to be first to tackel the deep snow. he went out and started clearing snow off his machine. this will be a test for a polaris .first time it has ever seen snow. we were worried he would get stuck on the the way down.

hunting camp 2008

from out of the wood the hunter apears, cold wet and hungry and eyes filled with tears. his rifel in hand he comes through the door hopeing to here the wood stoves roar. frost biteing his toes, fingers twinge, the wormth of the hunting camp worms him within. his boots pull off hard and toes wiggel out , he hangs up his cloths and moves slowly about . we sit by the fire , worming our bones, anouther day of hunting , 40 minutes from home.

i look out the door and what did i see, tons of white snow clear up to my knees. the 4 wheelers looked like marchmellow cakes, bearied in snow ,how will we excape. no hunting today, with two feet of this stuff, getting down off this mountain is gonna be tough. better pack up our bags and clean up the camp, shure will be glad to see the 4 wheeler ramps. the snow will be gone in just a few days , the sun will soon shine the weather man says. winter on the mountain 2008, oh what fun we will have rideing down to the lake. 4 wheelers humming down the mountain we go , slipping and slideing in the deep pretty white snow.

snow snow every were you look , tons of it ,tons of it to white to look. looks like marchmellows all in a row, pillows filled with fethers enstead of wet snow.

18 inches of pure white hell the snow won,t last long,

on the hill hi above fine, it,s white

and it,s cold and it chills to the spine. we were lucky you know to get out of that snow, thank god for four wheels, if it wasn,t for them, it would be snow shoes on our heels. high now on the mountain, alone in the snow, the hunting camp waits, for next hunters to show. the wood stove awaits to be lit up again, to bring wormth to the hunters as they begin to bunk in. 2008 will be rememberd for years, the snow storm that brought many men to see tears, frozen fingers, wet feet, pounding of hearts, a wonderful time for young men
and us old farts.

jimmy trying to imprees us by building snow blocks.\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\

what do you think wayne? seen enough snow yet. they are from n.c. and never get snpw there.

keep pushing guys . wait he's got the truck in reverse.

took a while to get that dodge out of the snow and on to the road but we got it. just two hours digging out and loading up. eeehaaa.

sorry we have to block the road but we got to load thease 4 wheelers. get the ice out of the tail gate before slamming it shut.

he's dreaming of the mountian and all the little deer prancing around in his head.or he's dreaming about his mamma who has missed him while he was here. could it be he is dreaming about his his children who misses him so and his pretty southern lady with the pretty blonde hair. dream on wayne dream on.

after a hard day in the woods wayne takes a little break from it all.
